Data collection when visiting the shop

If you visit this website without registering with a customer account or submitting any other information (e.g. via the contact form), Semillas only collects the data that your browser transmits to the web server used by Semillas and which is required on a technical level to display the shop correctly:

Registration via customer account

To make shopping in this shop easier for you and to save you from having to re-enter your personal data when placing repeated orders, you have the option of registering as a customer with a customer account on this website. This registration is voluntary.

After registration, the corresponding user account is immediately activated and ready for use.

Matomo Analytics

Matomo is used on this website for statistical purposes. Matomo is a privacy-friendly web analysis software that is used without cookies. To recognize returning users, a so-called “digital fingerprint” is used, which is stored anonymously and is valid for a maximum of 24 hours. IP addresses are recorded in pseudonymized form. It’s not possible to draw conclusions about the identity of individual users. The user data collected by Matomo is not shared with third parties.

Payment via Stripe

Semillas offers the option of executing the payment process via the payment service provider Stripe, ℅ Legal Process, 510, Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94103 (Stripe). This corresponds to the company’s legitimate interest in offering an efficient and secure payment method (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR). In this context, Semillas passes on the following data to Stripe to the extent necessary for the fulfillment of the contract (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit b. GDPR).

– E-mail address
– Customer number
– Order number
– Bank details
– Credit card details
– Credit card validity period
– Credit card verification number (CVC)
– Date and time of the transaction
– Transaction amount
– Provider name
– Location

The processing of the data provided under this section is not required by law or contract. Without submitting your personal data, Semillas cannot process a payment via Stripe.

Stripe plays a dual role as controller and processor in data processing activities. As the controller, Stripe uses your submitted data to fulfill regulatory obligations. This corresponds to Stripe’s legitimate interest (according to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR) and serves to execute the contract (according to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR). Semillas has no influence on this process.

Stripe acts as a processor to be able to complete transactions within the payment networks. As part of the order processing relationship, Stripe acts exclusively according to instructions from Semillas and is contractually obliged to comply with data protection regulations in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR.

Stripe has implemented compliance measures for international data transfers. These apply to all global activities where Stripe processes personal data of individuals in the EU. These measures are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Sharing of data

The stored personal data won’t be passed on to third parties or used for advertising purposes unless you explicitly agree to this transfer in writing to Semillas.

Rights

According to the GDPR, you have a particular right to information about your personal data collected by Semillas and the corresponding processing purposes. You also have the right to correction if data that the company has stored about you is incorrect or incomplete. Your personal data can be deleted if the requirements of Article 17 Para. 1 GDPR are met.

Duration of data storage

The duration of storage of your personal data is determined based on the applicable legal retention period. After the deadline has expired, the data will be deleted unless its storage is still required as part of an ongoing contract.
