The name says it all: this traditional variety, which was cultivated on the east coast of the United States around 1900, is particularly suitable for refining fish dishes. The unripe pods of the fish pepper are initially variegated green and white. In this early stadium they’re already slightly hot. They then ripen to red and intensify their heat. This Capsicum annuum is well suited for pot cultivation.
