Madre de Rios is a wild Capsicum frutescens from the jungle of the Amazon. Due to their size, the very productive plants can be grown as bonsai. Their pods of the size of a wild cherry, develop a considerable heat and a very good flavor. To produce a delicious salsa, boil the pods in red wine until soft, pass them through a sieve, add some salt, spices and a little white balsamic vinegar. Buen provecho!
