Piment d’Espelette Chili Seeds

Piment d’Espelette is a traditional chili variety from the French Basque Country. It originates from the area around the village of Espelette, where it has been cultivated for centuries.

The fruits are elongated, ripening from green to a deep red color, and have a very mild level of heat. In terms of flavor, Piment d’Espelette is fruity, slightly sweet, and aromatic, without any burning spiciness.

The plants grow compact and bushy and are well suited for garden cultivation. Botanically, this variety belongs to the species Capsicum annuum. Traditionally, the ripe pods are air-dried, then ground into a fine chili powder.
